What I want would be a way to just make him reliable enough that he can at least be made to not make things worse (like Healing for 0 and bleeding your target) and provide some form of acceptable ''Get him off of Death's Door NOW!'' instead of risking everything just because the dice rolled the wrong way at that one time you needed it to not do that.Ī flat minimum heal would be most useful without breaking the game, since you now WOULD have the ability to consider the Occultist as an acceptable healer in some party comps. You just cannot take the chance of the Occultist. What I am not enjoying is the fact that the gamble is so bad that any run that is going to see heavy damage requires a Vestal for Healing. And, if you want to avoid the bleed, make sure Bleed Resists > Bleed Chance. Point is that Wyrd Reconstruction is supposed to be a gamble. That being said, I don't like the occultist as a solo healer, but some others are fine with it. Also, can't you already have a damage oriented occultist now? The flat heal bonus would make his role even more similar to the vestal, which is bad since the heroes are supposed to be differentiated.
In exchange you get a chance to get a huge ass heal (i'm sure you've seen it when it crits) and some good skills like abyssal spaghetti. Well that's the point of the occultist his heal is unreliable and can even cause bleed.
I think an item that gives him a flat bonus Healing to his Wyrd Reconstruction would allow you to use him at least semi-effectively as a replacement for the Vestal in some runs without losing too much of his double-edged nature.Īt least it would allow you to have a Healing oriented or damage oriented Occultist instead of a backfiring healer. Too often this guy will break your team because of a string of bad heals. I think a Rare trinket would be useful for the Occultist as a class specific trinket to help with his heals.
